Hubby even uses! September 8, 2010 Flower This is an awesome blender! My husband loves it! We have been making milkshakes and having fun with this blender. It is a great price and has quality service. I can not believe what a great blender this is, it even has cups and oz... for measurements! You will not be disappointed with this blender.
Happy Blending!
Loved it! September 5, 2010 P. Sawamura (MD, USA) This is a very nice blender! Very affordable, innovative yet simple, powerful and so easy to take it apart to clean!! The only drawback is that the power cord is really short. But that is nothing compared to its capabilities. Strongly recommended!
Worth the money September 5, 2010 B. A. Canright (Tucson, Arizona) The Hamilton Beach wavestation is a good blender for the price; its 500 watts and only [...] bucks. It blends smoothies really well; I use frozen fruits and yogurt. It will crush ice but I dont use ice directly usually. The dispenser spout is build well, however it will not dispense thick liquids. It comes with a plug so you dont have to use it. For the money, you cant go wrong.
As nice as they say September 3, 2010 Michelle Dance-saba Look no further for the best blender you can get for frozen drinks. It's very easy to clean and lightweight. After each use be sure to also clean the spout or it will collect lots of left behind fruit puree which can become molded inside the spout. This would make a great house warming gift. This blender is overall the only blender that I've bought that mixes my smoothies the way they need to come out right. The ice crushes completely and my smoothies, icies, and whatever else I use it for comes out perfect.
Fantastic blender for the price. September 2, 2010 B. Arnold Okay, so this blender is made entirely out of plastic, it feels kinda cheap and it only has four speeds. So why am I giving it five stars?
Because it only cost $17 and it works.
I bought a Black and Decker blender from my local grocery store for nearly 50 bucks. It was a piece of crap that fell apart after several uses. The materials seemed great - rugged plastic base, solid glass jug - but the design and engineering was so bad that the nut which held the base together would vibrate loose while blending and disengage the blades. Plus, it smelled like it was burning every time I ran it for more than 30 seconds. This Hamilton Beach blender may be 100% plastic, but it cost 1/3 as much and it has been blending smoothies like a champ for several weeks now. My smoothies all come out just perfect. The only time I've had a problem is if the balance of ice/solids to liquid is off and that is pretty easy to adjust.
I thought that the pour spout would be a silly thing that I would never use but I actually like it a lot. Since it pulls the liquid from the bottom, it makes sure that any remaining ice chunks go through the blades on the way out. Sure, there's always a little left over that needs to be poured the old fashioned way, but that's okay. It may still be a gimmick but it does seem to serve at least SOME practical purpose and I use it way more than I thought I would.
+ It's cheap
+ It works
+ It looks okay
+ The design is solid
- The materials are a bit flimsy
- If you have a need for lots of varying speeds (which I do not) this blender will probably not suit you. It only has 4.
I gave it a five star rating is because it cost $17 but it is a decent blender regardless of price. I would still give it 3 stars if it cost twice as much.
